SEEKRZ is a startup based in Las Vegas, Nevada, specializing in branded products like clothing, shoes, accessories, and more. I was tasked with creating a unique and engaging iOS app for them. The goal is to ensure that the SEEKRZ brand stands out from other similar companies.
1. Enhance Brand Differentiation: Develop an iOS app that highlights SEEKRZ's unique brand identity and product offerings, distinguishing it from competitors in the market. Incorporate distinctive design elements and features that emphasize SEEKRZ's fashion-forward approach and exclusive product range.
2. Create a Seamless User Experience: Design an intuitive and engaging app interface that simplifies product discovery and purchasing processes. Focus on delivering a smooth user experience with features such as personalized recommendations, easy navigation, and a streamlined checkout process to boost customer satisfaction and retention.
SEEKRZ is a startup company that has never had a website or app before. To begin the project, I started with a mind map and rough sketches to explore their requirements and ideas. I aimed to integrate these insights into a cohesive design language. The mind map below reflects their requirements and provides a rough framework for the team to build upon. The brainstorming session is crucial for us as it ensures we’re on the same page and helps us identify the next steps to focus on.
Here is a persona I created to represent SEEKRZ users' needs and pain points. I’ve included a detailed persona story and explained how the information architecture (IA) logic is integrated into the design. This approach provides a clearer visual understanding of the user experience.
After several meetings, I developed a user flow that outlines the process for a new user to sign up and navigate to the home page. This user flow illustrates each step of the registration process and how users transition through the app.Below, you’ll find the user flow diagram, which provides a visual representation of this process, and the design wireframes, which show the layout and functionality of each screen involved. These tools collectively help in understanding how the user will interact with the app from initial sign-up to reaching the home page.
I used low-fidelity wireframes to present the different design options available. Displaying these wireframes during our meetings helped the SEEKRZ team better understand how the visual designs align with their requirements.
Following up on the previous step, here are the mid-fidelity wireframes I created. Mid-fidelity wireframes are crucial in the design process because they offer a more detailed and interactive representation of the app’s layout and functionality compared to low-fidelity wireframes. While they are not yet fully polished, mid-fidelity wireframes provide a clearer depiction of user interface elements, their arrangement, and user interactions. This level of detail helps stakeholders better visualize the app’s structure and flow, making it easier to identify and address usability issues before progressing to high-fidelity designs.
SEEKRZ is a platform for buying, selling, and trading fashion brands. When selecting the color palette, I aimed to convey a sense of modernity, energy, young and power. To achieve this, I chose orange as the primary color. Below is my inspiration board, which guided my design choices.
Below are the major screens I designed for SEEKRZ, each accompanied by detailed annotations. These annotations provide insights into the design ideas, features, and user flows incorporated into each screen. The annotations highlight how each element supports the overall user experience and aligns with the brand’s goals. By reviewing these screens and their corresponding explanations, you can gain a comprehensive understanding of the design’s functionality and how it facilitates user interaction throughout the app.
Below is the mockup of my final designs. This mockup showcases the completed visual and interactive elements of the app, reflecting the overall user experience and design intent. It includes detailed representations of the major screens, layout, and user interface components, illustrating how the app will look and function in its final form.
I felt very fortunate to work on this project; it was a great experience for me. Throughout the process, the client (SEEKRZ) and I had couple of meetings and multiple iterations. The SEEKRZ team is extremely happy with the final result, particularly appreciating the unique and modern design, and the app’s ease of use.For me, there are definitely areas that could be further improved. Given the time constraints and the number of meetings, this is the best outcome I could achieve. If time allows, I would like to delve deeper into the project, explore additional opportunities, and conduct usability tests to further enhance the design.
